Tannenbaum Helpern Partner Andre R. Jaglom Selected to Co-Chair New York State Bar Association Ukraine Task Force

10.24.2022  •  Press Release

Jaglom Selected for Commitment and Service to NYSBA International Section and Ukraine

New York, NY, October 24, 2022Tannenbaum Helpern is pleased to announce that Andre R. (“Drew”) Jaglom has been named a Co-Chair of the NYSBA International Section’s Ukraine Task Force. Jaglom has served as an informal advisor to the Task Force on matters relating to its call for an international tribunal to investigate and prosecute reported Russian war crimes.

The Task Force has worked to address a wide range of legal issues arising out of Russian aggression in Ukraine, from development of an immigration process for Ukrainian refugees and training U.S. lawyers to assist them, to working with the Ukrainian Bar Association to support lawyers in Ukraine during the war and joining with the UBA and others to train lawyers and investigators on the gathering of evidence of war crimes.

“The Task Force has an incredibly important mission both now and in the coming years,” said Drew. “The Task Force established a well-functioning process to assist refugees that continues to serve people in need. We developed a resolution adopted by the NYSBA Executive Committee, and then presented by NYSBA to the American Bar Association and adopted by its House of Delegates, to investigate and prosecute war crimes against Ukraine. The next step will be to help train lawyers and investigators to gather and preserve evidence of such war crimes so that prosecutions can begin.”

“Tannenbaum Helpern has a rich history of pro bono legal assistance,” said Ralph A. Siciliano, who leads the Firm’s pro bono efforts. Firm Managing Partner, Andrew W. Singer went on to say, “Drew’s commitment to the International Section reflects the same level of focus he provides his clients. We are proud to support his efforts with the Task Force.”

Drew Jaglom is Partner and Chair of Tannenbaum Helpern’s Corporate Practice. Based in New York City, he counsels clients in the distribution and marketing of goods and services, including structuring distribution networks, domestic and international distribution and supply contracts, mergers and acquisitions of distribution companies, transfers of distribution rights, e-commerce, supply chain relations, and dealer termination litigation.

Jaglom joins Task Force Co-Chairs Scott M. Karson and Serhiy Hoshovsky in service to the NYSBA International Section. NYSBA has created a website to assist U.S. lawyers interested in supporting immigration and other legal efforts in Ukraine. More information can be found here.
