Employment Law Associate

Tannenbaum Helpern, a premier New York-based full service commercial law firm, is seeking an attorney with 3-5 years of employment law experience, including litigation, to join our employment law practice group as an associate. Our practice provides the full scope of management side employment law services. This attorney will have a focus on employment litigation and defense of administrative charges, but will be involved in all aspects of our practice, including without limitation negotiating and preparing employment agreements, providing HR compliance counseling, drafting HR policies and employee handbooks, advising on reductions in force, and conducting workplace trainings. The ideal candidate will possess superior written and verbal communication skills, as well as a demonstrated outstanding work ethic. Must be admitted in New York. The ability to write/speak Spanish fluently and labor law experience are plusses. Currently hybrid with 3 in office/2 remote days. Estimated salary range: $175,000 - $235,000/year, plus bonus opportunity.

Marketing & Business Development Coordinator

Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP is seeking a Marketing & Business Development Coordinator with two to three years’ experience in a law firm setting to join the firm’s NYC office. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, smart and motivated individual who will support the department and collaborate across our practices to ensure delivery of the firm’s strategic goals and initiatives.

Based in the firm’s midtown NYC office, the Marketing Coordinator will support many of the department’s growth initiatives and report directly to the CMBDO. This role is instrumental to the success of the department and the Coordinator will have regular interaction with all levels of firm leadership. The position is hybrid, and requires three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities, with support from CMBDO, will include, but are not limited to:

  • Business Intelligence. Prepare market and client background reports in alignment with practice group and individual attorney business development goals.

  • Client Proposals. Assist partners and CMBDO with content development in connection with client/prospective client pitches and proposals.

  • Social Media. Campaign development and execution in alignment with firm and practice group plans, evaluate metrics and develop profile growth strategy.

  • Video Content. Edit and publish video segments on website and social media.

  • Event Execution (webinars and live programs). Budgeting, development and production, and post-event ROI evaluation.

  • Conference Support. Identify and secure conference speaking opportunities for attorneys by monitoring external event calendars, trade and legal websites/journals.

  • Event Follow-up. Track attendance and support ongoing relationship development.

  • Writing/Content. Draft language for firm announcements, press releases and social media; content distribution through media providers and other channels.

  • CRM. Contact management, audits, attorney training, best practice development.

  • Legal Directories. Submit timely legal directory submissions (Chambers, Best Lawyers, etc.)

  • Department Budget. Assist with invoices and maintain budget system.

In addition, the Coordinator will develop a deep understanding the firm’s practice groups and industries served, and stay informed with firm and practice developments by collaborating with department, practice group chairs, and leadership, as well as other departments throughout the firm.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field or education/experience equivalent.

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a law firm.

  • Strong writing ability and experience.

  • Basic/Intermediate experience working within HubSpot, InterAction or similar CRM preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to execute internal and external events from pre-planning and theme development to post-event analysis.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals at all levels of the firm.

  • Knowledge of business development and marketing processes in a professional services industry.

  • Familiarity with legal directories.

  • Experience with business/market research tools and databases preferred.

  • Excellent organization and communications skills, both oral and written.

  • Detail oriented with dedication to timely follow up.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure with changing deadlines and multiple projects at the same time.

  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information.

  • Flexibility for working before or after hours and periodic local travel.
