Super Lawyers Names Paul D. Sarkozi As One Of The Top 100 Lawyers In New York Metro 2012

11.15.2012  •  Press Release

New York, NY -- Tannenbaum Helpern is proud to announce that one of its litigation partners, Paul D. Sarkozi, has been selected as one of the Top 100 New York Metro Lawyers by Super Lawyers, a rating service of outstanding lawyers. Super Lawyer received more than 31,000 nominations for lawyers to be considered in its 2012 New York Metro rankings. After conducting independent research, peer evaluations and its own blue ribbon review process, Super Lawyers ranked Paul in the top 100 of all lawyers practicing in the New York Metro area. Notably, the Top 100 list includes only 13 lawyers recognized for "Business Litigation," and Paul is one of those top 13 business litigators. Paul's achievement is especially noteworthy because he is the only business litigator in the Top 100 who works at a firm with fewer than a hundred lawyers.

Paul is a partner in the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. A graduate of Yale College and Harvard Law School, he concentrates his practice on sophisticated and complex business disputes in federal and state courts and in arbitration. Paul has a strong reputation in New York's Commercial Division, the branch of the New York Court system that handles complex business disputes. A savvy business-oriented negotiator, mediator and litigator, Paul is often sought by corporations and senior executives to defend, prosecute and resolve their disputes. His clients span a broad range of industries, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate investment trusts and developers, global media and public relations firms, leading clothing retailers, global banks, pharmaceuticals, food companies and professional services firms.

Early in 2012, Paul was appointed by New York Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman to serve on the Task Force on Commercial Litigation in the 21stCentury, which published a set of proposals this summer designed to make New York Courts an even more effective and attractive forum for resolving business disputes. Paul also serves as Vice-Chair of the New York State Bar's Commercial & Federal Litigation Section, and teaches a course in negotiation at Columbia Law School.

"Paul is a skilled litigator who understands how to effectively balance his clients' immediate legal needs with their overall business strategy. He is a respected and zealous advocate for his clients and an innovator who continually explores ways to improve the commercial litigation process. We are proud that he is being recognized as the exceptional litigator he is," said Joel S. Hirschtritt, Tannenbaum Helpern's Managing Partner.
