Paul Sarkozi Is Appointed To Chief Judge's Commercial Division Advisory Council

New York, NY --Tannenbaum Helpern is proud to announce that Paul Sarkozi , a partner in its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, has been selected by Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman to serve on the statewide Commercial Division Advisory Council. The goals of the Council are twofold: (1) to advise the Chief Judge on matters relating to the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York and (2) to implement the recommendations outlined in the report of the Chief Judge's Task Force on Commercial Litigation in the 21 st Century. Paul was one of the members of the Chief Judge's Task Force, serving as a principal author of the portions of the report that related to expedited case resolution and enhanced use of mediation and arbitration to resolve business disputes.

The 37-member Commercial Division Advisory Council is comprised of current and former judges, general counsels and other prominent members from the business and legal community.

"I believe the Task Force Report offers many innovations and recommendations that will enhance the Commercial Division's efforts to help businesses resolve their disputes in a cost-effective and efficient manner. I am truly honored to be given the opportunity to see the project through and work with so many distinguished judges, lawyers and business leaders to help make sure the Task Force's ideas are adopted and that the commitment to the important work of the Commercial Division continues to get the support it deserves," said Sarkozi.

A seasoned attorney, Paul has been elected Chair-Elect of the New York State Bar Association's Commercial and Federal Litigation Section, has served as Co-Chair of the NYSBA's Committee on the Commercial Division since 2006 and has been recognized by Super Lawyers as one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers in the New York Metro area.
