Super Partners: Super Lawyers Selects Vincent Syracuse And Paul Sarkozi Among The Top 100 Lawyers In New York Metro

10.07.2013  •  Press Release

New York, NY — Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP has a lot to celebrate lately. 2013 marks the 35th Anniversary of the firm, prominent trade publication Hedgeweek has named Tannenbaum Helpern as the 2013's Best North American Law Firm, ALM has named the firm as the one of the top law firms in New York Metro and recently 29 of the firm's 56 attorneys have been named Super Lawyers or Rising Stars. One special development is that two of its litigation partners, Vince Syracuse and Paul Sarkozi, have been named to Super Lawyers' Top 100 New York Metro Lawyers – an astounding accomplishment for a full-service mid-size law firm.

Indeed, given the approximately 100,000 attorneys who practice in New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland, the fact that two of the Top 100 work in the same business litigation department is all the more impressive. Notably, Vince and Paul are among only 16 business litigators identified in the Top 100.

Vince concentrates much of his practice on business disputes, including matters involving real estate, partnership, and shareholder interests, as well as legal and accounting malpractice issues. Paul's practice involves the representation of financial institutions, including private equity funds, banks and hedge funds, as well as public corporations and large private entities.

Vince and Paul first met as adversaries 10 year ago. They formed a strong friendship and developed great respect for each other through a hard fought battle in a case in the Commercial Division of the NY Supreme Court and later found they shared a deep commitment to the development of business law in New York and mentoring of young lawyers. Vince had been involved, through NY State Bar work, in the formation of the Commercial Division, has served for more than ten years on the NY County Commercial Division Advisory Group and has served for many years as Chair of the State Bar's Committee on the Commercial Division. In 2007, Vince approached Paul to serve as his committee co-chair.

Then, in 2009 Paul decided to leave a large firm practice to join Vince at Tannenbaum Helpern. Since then both have remained committed to the New York State Bar service, the development of the profession and the evolution of commercial litigation in New York.

Vince has served as Chair of New York State Bar Association's (NYSBA) Commercial and Federal Litigation Section and in the NYSBA House of Delegates. Paul serves on the NY Chief Judge's Statewide Commercial Division Advisory Council, and has been elected Chair-Elect of the Commercial & Federal Litigation Section. They are proud of the path they have forged together – to make New York a premier venue for business litigation and to provide their clients with sophisticated, cost-effective and practical representation that yield results.
