New York State Bar Association International Section

October 19-21, 2016

Tannenbaum Helpern’s attorneys L. Donald Prutzman and Drew Jaglom spoke at the NYSBA’s International Section meeting in Paris, France in October.

Intellectual property attorney L. Donald Prutzman co-chaired a panel on October 20, 2016 entitled “Challenging IP: Fashion Design Protection and Appropriation Art in the US and EU.” The panel compared and contrasted the approaches taken in the US, France and Europe to the protection of copyright for fashion design, including the extent to which artists can create “appropriation art” based on the prior work of others.

Distribution attorney Drew Jaglom co-chaired a panel entitled “Commercial Divorce in Europe and Around the World,” which examined restrictions on the termination of commercial relationships in Europe and around the world and how suppliers and distributors can best protect their interests.
